Blog Announcer Pro Review

July 1st, 2006

When you purchase a submitter, you expect two outcomes to occur after using it:

You achieve the specific results promised in the sales letter,

And

It functions properly.

Blog Announcer Pro scores 10 out of 10 for delivering the results it promises.  However, there are certain features I would like to see improved.  Before I mention what these are, I need to tell you what it’s suppose to do.

What Blog Announcer Pro Does

Blog Announcer Pro assists you in submitting your blog information to RSS feed and Blog directories.  You can submit any number of blogs.  Each of your blog’s information is saved in its own individual profile.  In each profile, you can save your blog’s RSS/Blog URL, RSS/Blog Title, description, keywords, email and your name.  You can also edit or delete profiles.

Blog Announcer Pro stores the submission sites in a database and keeps track of where you have submitted.

There is a right panel, which displays two tabs.  The first tab lists hyperlinks pointing to RSS submission sites.  The second tab lists hyperlinks pointing to Blog directories.  When a hyperlink is clicked, the submission page for a site is loaded into a panel on the left side of the application.

Blog Announcer Pro automatically fills in the submission form based on whichever profile or blog information you have selected to work on.

You may need to select a category from a drop-down list or fill in additional information that the particular submission form asks.  After you are done filling in all the required information for that site, you may click the submit button and you may receive a confirmation page telling you your blog submission was accepted or successful and that it will be reviewed by an editor.  Then you repeat the process as just describe for the other sites on the list.

What I Didn’t Like

Blog Announcer Pro places a checkmark alongside the hyperlink for a site to signify that you have submitted your blog information to it.  This is a nice feature if it works properly.  The problem is that the checkmark remains for all profiles, even the ones you haven’t yet began to submit.  Until this problem is fixed, the only solution I see would be to finish a profile and click the reset status button to clear all checkmarks before moving on to your next blog.

Each RSS or blog directory site will require you to supply certain information about your blog or feed and if you don’t, they will prompt you with a warning message to supply it before you can click the submit button again.  It appears some of this information is asked often enough on a number of sites, but Blog Announcer Pro doesn’t offer additional fields in its profile for this information.  You have no choice but to enter the information manually.

Blog Announcer Pro is supposed to be able to provide updates to its database of submission sites.  However, whenever I try to use this feature, I always get an error message.  I can’t say for sure it’s an application bug or if my own PC is at fault.

With Blog Announcer Pro, there are links to the user guide and support.  When I click on either of them, I’m directed to a Camtasia video that shows me how to use the features.  I would rather have these links point to a written user manual or at least the support email address.

What I Like About Blog Announcer Pro

I had doubts about this application because of the problems I just described.  However, I can’t deny that it did get my new blog to rank in the top ten on Google.com for a few keyword phrases.

I’m sure that if I had submitted my blog to these sites without Blog Announcer Pro, it would have taken more time.

Recommendations

Blog Announcer Pro isn’t the only submitter available so you may want to do some shopping before you decide.

If you only have a few blogs to submit to RSS and blog directory submission sites, then this tool might be overkill.  You can go to each one of these submission sites individually and manually submit your blog information.  It will just take a little longer to get it done.

However, if you have multiple blogs to promote, then Blog Announcer Pro can help you save a lot of time.  I highly recommend that you only submit blogs that have real content that people will find valuable.  Otherwise, the blog directory editors will not accept your blogs.
